This project was established under the European Commission Phare programme to assess the safety of the Püspökszilágy Radioactive Waste Treatment and Disposal Facility in Hungary (Project Reference No 99-0167). The report of this project presents the results of a post-closure safety assessment and a number of recommendations are made relating to the management of the site. The work was based on data and research commissioned by the Public Agency for Radioactive Waste Management (PURAM) and its predecessors.
