International Radioactive Waste Advisory Committee (1989 - )

The International Radioactive Waste Advisory Committee was established by the IAEA as an 18-nation expert committee in 1989 to advise the IAEA about its own programme and to oversee the preparation of internationally agreed basic standards for waste management - the RADWASS or Radioactive Waste Safety Standards programme.
